No hotspots were found in the TDK Forum’s work area, according to SIPONGI data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
The peat water level remains relatively safe in most locations. The deepest subsidence was recorded in the Mahikei River area of Kalawa Village, reaching 50 centimeters, requiring further attention.
Patrol results from June 16–17, 2026, showed that several areas in the Buntoi Village Forest and the former Gohong PLG were still inundated with water to a depth of 10–60 centimeters. Rain was also still occurring in both locations.
According to BMKG data, the air temperature in Pulang Pisau ranged from 24–32 degrees Celsius with high humidity. However, the flammability of the surface soil layer ranged from easily to highly flammable.
Monitoring showed no significant peat subsidence in the four village forests throughout 2026. Only 1 centimeter of subsidence was recorded at Gohong Station, still below the threshold of 5 centimeters per year. The lowest observed subsidence value was 43 centimeters at Gohong Station and the highest at 74 centimeters at Kalawa Station.

In addition to reporting the latest forest and land fire situation, the Kahayan Hilir TDK Forum also clarified information regarding the Kahayan Hilir Initiative (IKH) in Buntoi Village. The TDK Forum explained that the IKH is a collaboration between the Forestry and Forestry Management Unit (KPSHK) and four Village-Owned Forest Management Units (LPHD) in Kahayan Hilir District. The Buntoi Village Government has been involved since 2022, and all activities are implemented in accordance with the Social Forestry Management Plan (RKPS) and the principle of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC).
